Questions and Answers

What photography style do you specialize in?

My wedding photography style is a combination of candid photojournalism and posed portraiture. I try to let the day unfold naturally without making my presence known, but I do help my couples with posing for their formal portraits so that they look their best. I interject gently as needed to create the remarkable images that best capture your day.

How would you describe your work?

My photography is artistic, modern, vibrant, light and detailed. I love to see all of the details in dresses and flowers, and I love romantic sun drenched moments with beautiful light. I prefer my photographs not be over exposed, but to retain the details. Bridal portraits are my favorite of the day and I specialize in capturing incredible pre-ceremony portraits of my brides.

Will the photos be retouched and color balanced?

All of the photos that go into your final gallery will be retouched and color balanced, with any blinking eyes etc removed and only the best selected. Final wedding galleries typically will have 1000-2000 images.

How many wedding have you shot? How many weddings do you shoot in a year?

I have been a professional wedding photographer for ten years and have photographed well over 300 weddings. I typically shoot around 40 weddings a year.

Do you shoot digital or film?

I shoot only digital. While film is pretty, I don’t feel comfortable with the risk of image loss were negatives to become accidentally exposed. Digital is more secure and also beautiful. It is also more cost effective, as shooting film easily adds thousands of dollars to photography packages.

What exactly is included in your packages?

My base package includes all of your high resolution digital files and an online gallery to view, share and download your images. I also help my couples plan their wedding day timeline and provide an organizational list for family portraits. Upgraded packages can include an engagement session, additional hours of coverage, and second and third wedding photographers.

How many hours of photography do we get?

I offer packages for half day or full day coverage. Some couples only need a few hours while others need a photographer with them for the entire event.

Will you be my photographer or will it be one of your associates?

I will be your actual photographer if you book your package with me. I do offer a skilled associate photographer for dates I am booked or for those looking for a lower cost option.

Do you have back-up photographers who will shoot the wedding if your are sick?

I have a large network of photographers who would be able to cover, as well as an associate shooter available were there to be an extreme emergency. I have never missed a wedding in the ten years of my career.

How long after the wedding until we see the images?

I will begin putting up sneak peeks within the first week of your wedding. All images are completed and available to download within 30 days from your wedding.

What are the restrictions in sharing and posting my photos? Do I own the copyright for my photos?

You are more than free to post your images wherever you wish, and I encourage you to share them. You own the photos for personal use and can print them at any lab you choose.

Why should I book you for my photography?

You should book me if you feel connected to my images and if they illicit in you an emotional response. The most important factor in booking your photographer should be if you love their work. Secondary to that, your photographer should be priced within your wedding budget and have the right style and personality for your wedding day.
