Erin and Mathew’s wedding has it all- gorgeous rolling hills, sunset, darling decor, dance moves, and super hot wedding party, and THAT DRESS! My favorite moment of this day was Mathew’s face as he watched Erin walking down the aisle towards him. I have rarely seen anyone look so deeply in love. Erin was such a vision in her lace gown with it’s gorgeous train and detailed waist, it was the perfect dress for their wedding venue with it’s Spanish inspired Casa Blanca style.
Mathew and Erin’s were married at The Casitas Estate in San Luis Obispo, a private wine country estate overlooking lush vineyards and close to Pismo Beach. It is one of the prettiest private estate venues in the area, with a Spanish style home built on multi-leveled property that includes a star shaped fountain, vineyards and a sparkling swimming pool. The reception and ceremony areas overlook a gorgeous view of south county grapes and orchards and there are numerous locations for beautiful wedding photos to be taken, especially during sunset at golden hour. As a wedding photographer who loves photographing my couple’s portraits right at golden hour, my heart gets very excited when I think of shooting this amazing wedding venue.
Erin and Mathew are both teachers, both amazingly sweet and also they are just cool. They are one of those couples you think.. oh they are a little shy. Until you look over and they are straight up busting out full on Justin Timberlake-esque dance moves and you realize wow, they are way cooler than I will ever be and I will go grovel now. They are not shy haha they are just RAD. I bet their students love them.
Erin and Mathew clearly prioritize friends and family. Their wedding was very relaxed with plenty of time to enjoy their guests and visit with each other. Erin and Mathew created a very personalized decor them for their wedding reception, and were helped in the layout and execution by the fabulously talented wedding coordinator Janet Tacy with Sand Castle Celebrations. As they are both teachers, they incorporated such items as pencils, lunch boxes, and notes from their students into their decorations. It showed who they are as people and as a couple and what brings them joy in their life. The golden lunch boxes made such cute centerpieces. Erin’s flowers and bouquet were absolutely breathtaking, created by Elegant Details Flowers. It was by far one of the prettiest brides bouquets I photographed this season.
Sunset photos are everything. Having the right light at the right time of day makes a huge difference in wedding photography. Erin and Mathew were totally down for going out right at sunset for their pictures. We had already had some practice taking photos during their Yosemite Engagement session. As you can see they are pros now.
One of my favorite things about the Casitas Estate is their succulent wall. Its so darling and such a great backdrop for photos.
